Private Member's Motions
Wednesday is 'Private Member's Day', and government backbenchers and opposition members are given an opportunity to have issues debated at this time.  The speaker calls a motion from each side of the House on a weekly alternating basis.  Check back  to view issues brought forward for debate by the opposition through the Private Member's Motions.

Member's Statements
The subject matter of a Member's Statement may be an anniversary, historic event, some particular accomplishment, the death of a notable person, or matters of local, provincial, national or international significance.

Opposition members want to be your voice in the House of Assembly during Question Period.  If you have an issue that you wish to have addressed in the House of Assembly, please let us know.

Petitions
A general petition is a document that identifies a specific concern.  They are requests for the House of Assembly to consider certain issues or to consider taking action in certain areas.  Any person or organization may prepare petitions and it is their responsibility to arrange for a Member of the House of Assembly to present it on their behalf.
