Robert Slaney of Upper Island Cove,
and former member of the Cee Bees Minor Hockey League,
has been short-listed as one of the five finalists for
the Marcel Robert Trophy Award.
Robert is a proud member of the
Cape Breton Screaming Eagles of the Quebec Major Junior
Hockey League, and this coveted award is for the
Scholastic Player of the Year.
Mr. Speaker, to be selected as one
of the top five is a testament to Robert’s commitment
to both hockey and education.
Robert is enrolled in the business administration
program at Cape Breton University.
He attended a final review for this award on
March 3, 2008, and the winner will be announced on April
2 in Montreal at the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League
Golden Puck Awards.
Mr. Speaker, I ask all members to
