Joyce says the disabled angler program is a positive initiative
August 24th, 2004

Eddie Joyce, MHA for the District of Bay of Islands, says government’s announcement for the creation of a disabled angler program is a positive initiative that will include and encourage disabled people in the province to participate in outdoor recreational activities.

"As a representative of a national group that works with and represents disabled people in the province, I feel this initiative is a positive move for the disabled community," said Mr. Joyce. "These programs help disabled people in our society become more active and full participating citizens. I encourage all people in the disabled community to take advantage of this program and enjoy the great experience of fishing.

"I encourage government to look at expanding programs of this type to ensure that all disabled people in our province have equal opportunity to the activities that many of us take for granted. I am hopeful that we will witness more of these valuable initiatives in the future."
