Opposition Leader to attend Flower’s Cove rally

Opposition Leader Yvonne Jones will be in Flower’s Cove on Saturday, September 26th to participate in a rally to protest the removal of lab and x-ray services and the reduction of hours at the local health care facility. The rally takes place at 2pm at Cannon Richards School.

“I will be supporting the efforts of the people of Flower’s Cove this weekend as they protest this government’s attempts to gut rural healthcare in our province,” said Ms. Jones. “Forcing rural residents to travel hundreds of kilometers to receive basic medical services, especially during the winter months, is simply unacceptable and must be re-evaluated. I am certain there will be a clear message sent to government that these cuts must be reversed to protect the health and well-being of people living in rural regions of our province.”
