Opposition Leader attending Combined Councils of Labrador meetings

Opposition Leader Yvonne Jones is in Labrador West this week attending the Combined Councils of Labrador (CCL) meetings being held in Labrador West from February 4th-February 6th. The meetings will discuss a number of issues of importance to the region including transportation, health care and infrastructure needs.

“The CCL meetings are a very important opportunity for municipal leaders in Labrador to come together, identify issues of importance to our region and try to find solutions to challenges that we face,” said Ms. Jones. “These meetings are very informative and set the priorities that must be addressed by government.

“Transportation challenges, health care improvements and infrastructure needs are issues that affect every person living in Labrador and are receiving significant attention at these meetings. I have committed to bring these issues to government and the House of Assembly to ensure the appropriate ministers understand the unique challenges facing our region. I will continue to work closely with the CCL to ensure Labrador issues get the attention they deserve, especially during this pre-budgetary process when input is being sought from the public and key funding decisions are being made.”
