Jones to give presentation at Northern
Lights 2010 Conference
The opportunities available to investors in Labrador
will highlight Opposition Leader Yvonne Jones’ presentation to the Northern
Lights 2010 Conference taking place January 27th-30th
in Montreal. Jones was recently asked by organizers to represent the
province as an elected member from Labrador.
The Northern Lights Trade Show and Conference attracts
over 140 exhibitors and more than 600 delegates for the three-day event.
Representatives from business and government, as well as those who represent
northern regions of Canada, come together to learn about the opportunities
available throughout the north.
“This conference has been a huge success in the past
and I am certain it will again provide new opportunities to the people of
Labrador,” said Ms. Jones. “A number of businesses from Labrador will be
attending this year’s event in an effort to create new partnerships and
expand their operations. From our traditional industrial sectors, to our
growing small business and our potential for expanded tourism opportunities,
there are certainly a lot of positive things to talk about regarding
Labrador.”
Jones says her presentation on Thursday will outline
the many economic success stories throughout Labrador and the many
opportunities that exist for new investment and growth in this region of our
province.
“I’m always
excited to discuss our part of the country and provide people from all over
the world with the details of our region and the many cultural, business,
industrial and tourism related opportunities available. Our people are
resilient and creative entrepreneurs who can recognize an opportunity and
aren’t afraid to work hard to achieve their goals. It is always important to
spread this message to national and international audiences and I look
forward to providing these details over the next few days in Montreal.”- 30 -
