MHA Parsons challenges Dunderdale to be proactive on saving Maritime Rescue Sub-Centre

Liberal MHA Andrew Parsons stated today that it’s inexcusable that the Dunderdale Government did not send any representatives to a rally hosted by the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) to save our Maritime Rescue Sub-Centre.

“It is of utmost importance that we lobby the Harper Government as one united voice,” said Parsons. “The fact that Premier Dunderdale did not send any PC caucus members to today’s event, as well as her soft approach to dealing with Stephen Harper, has not helped our cause in any way.”

Parsons noted that an independent review of the decision by the Harper Government to close the centre is needed to ensure that the safety of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians is not compromised.

“We need an independent review and I challenge Premier Dunderdale to lend her support to this cause,” said Parsons.
