Liberal MHA Andrew Parsons will attend a rally hosted by the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) today, February 3, 2012 at 11:00am. The purpose of the rally is to launch a commercial that protests the Harper Government’s decision to close the Marine Rescue Centre in St. John’s.

“It is important that we continue to send a strong message to the Harper Government that the severe cuts they are making in our province are unacceptable,” said Parsons. “I look forward to standing with my fellow Newfoundlanders and Labradorians as we show our outrage at the Harper Conservatives.”

Parsons noted that it’s time for the Dunderdale Government to abandon their soft approach with Harper and take a strong stand on behalf of the people of the province.

“It’s time for Premier Dunderdale to show some leadership and speak up against these damaging cuts,” said Parsons.
